FEATURED PENMEN PROFILES
Scott R. Tomasso
Scott Richard Tomasso was born on January 1, 1973. He is one of three children to parents Richard and Bobette. He has a twin brother, Chad and an older brother, Rob.
Scott grew up in the metropolitan area of Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA. His desire to entertain came early in life when he and his brothers performed in a number of local television and radio commercials. Living in the heartland, however, made it tough for Scott to break into an industry that was in large part non-existent.
Although Scott would go on to pursue a career in computer science, he never let go of his passion to entertain. And at the age of 28, he moved to Los Angeles, California to study acting. Scott20enjoyed the craft, but was increasingly drawn to the other side of the camera where he quickly realized his talents as both a Writer and Producer.
Scott went on to write and produce for companies such as E! Entertainment Television, TV Guide Network and Lionsgate as well as writing and developing his own material with twin brother, Chad and writing partner Traci Galbraith.
In August of 2008, Scott was approached by Omima Edilbi, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Penmen Elite, to help develop a challenging project that was simply called [at the time] “The Struwwelpeter Project”. He was fascinated and excited by the research and immediately jumped on board. And thus, the story of “enfant TERRIBLE” was born.
Spinning a complex and highly entertaining web of short stories into an epic tale wasn’t an easy task. But through countless hours that included endless late night meetings with Omima herself, Scott [and Chad] believes they have achieved just that.
Chad Tomasso was born on January 1st, 1973 in Council Bluffs, IA to Richard Lee and Bobette Bea Thomas. His parents, both talented individuals in their own right (musicians and artists), instilled in him a desire to be creative at a very young age. A desire that still boils in him today.
As a grade-schooler, Chad performed in a number of television and radio commercials falling in love with the entertainment business right away. Unfortunately, the Midwest provided little opportunities to pursue his passion as a career. As a result, Chad went on to graduate college with a degree in Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Additionally, he attended Bellevue University (Omaha) where he earned a second degree in Business Information Systems. Although his career would take a more conservative path, Chad has held onto his passion of writing, which he has been doing now for 20 years.
At the age of 28, Chad moved to Phoenix, AZ where he still lives today with his w ife, Tanya, and two children; Tanner and Rylan. Although he is very involved with work and his family life, Chad spends hi s free time writing and collaborating on projects with his twin brother Scott Tomasso who resides and works in Hollywood as a writer/producer. Together they have written a number of scripts, short stories and treatments for the big screen and television.
Chad’s latest project is called “enfant Terrible”; a novel and soon to be full-length feature film based on the timeless short stories in Heinrich Hoffman’s Struwwelpeter. When he was approached in 2008 by Omima Edilbi from Penmen Elite to help co-write this fantasy story, he jumped on board immediately. Creating an epic story based on the characters millions of people had grown up reading was too sweet of a challenge for Chad to pass up. Additionally, he was excited about the potential to create a story that was unlike anything else seen in cinema history. The process has been long and enjoyable and the end result, Chad believes, will be a satisfying experience for both fans of Heinrich Hoffman and fans of fantasy alike.
